Join 2019 20 artist in ruth easterbrook in exploring hand building with clay from home. Beginner advanced instructor. The wheelwork is more rigorous and more challenging assignments are given. Students will produce ceramic art work using pinch slab and coil techniques.

Students will be able to recognize and describe common ceramic crystal structures. Both the functional and sculptural ceramic traditions will be explored. This course will provide instruction and practical forming experience as it relates to the design and production of ceramics. Students explore three dimensional design while developing both useful and sculptural forms.

Madison central high school. There is no pre requisite for this class. Forming techniques surface development and glazing and kiln firing practices will be introduced. Course description this course provides an introductory exposure to the history of ceramics and a beginning level experience in the use of clay as a fine art medium. The primary emphasis is on studio work leading to a portfolio of finished pieces by the end of the semester.
